Wearing a white disposable suit you can literally see fleas jumping from the carpet or floorboards onto the white material of the suit. Of course if this was my normal clothing or if I was bare legged they would be quickly biting me to get a blood meal.

Blame It On Your Dog Or Cat
More often than not fleas are brought into your home by your pets. But they can also be brought in by humans. Equally I could put them in the tumble dryer on hot or I could put them in a bag in the freezer and freeze them for 12 hours.

Hyperdrug or your vet can also supply aerosols for fast knockdown of fleas. But they are simply not cost effective to treat a whole house, you would need several cans to do a thorough job.
Had Enough Of Flea Bites
So I have given you a few hints and tips on how to get rid of fleas. But if you are going to tackle them yourself you really need to be serious about the job. Vacuum everything and when you have done throw the hoover bag out sealed in a bin liner. In fact throw the hoover bag out or empty the cylinder after every vacuuming session.

Then you need to go into a rigorous program of vacuuming, possibly steam cleaning using something like a Cimex Eradicator steamer and possibly using a natural powder called Diatomaceous Earth. But even using DE you have to ensure you don't breath the dust in if it is airborne. DE works like microscopic razor blades, these cut into the surface of the fleas body and cause it to dehydrate.
